Rendang Daging
A rich and creamy curry featuring beef simmered slowly in a coconut and spice paste. An iconic Indonesian dish that is flavorful and comforting.

Ingredients
- 700 g Braising beef
- 400 ml Coconut milk
- 3 piece Red onion
- 4 clove Garlic
- 3 cm Fresh ginger
- 2 piece Red chili
- 2 cm Galangal
- 2 piece Lemongrass stalk
- 2 tbsp Soy sauce
- 3 tbsp Coconut oil
- 300 g Jasmine rice
Instructions
Step 1
Prepare the paste: blend red onion, garlic, ginger, chili, galangal, and lemongrass until smooth.
Step 2
Heat the coconut oil in a Dutch oven and sauté the paste for 3 minutes.
Step 3
Add the beef pieces and sear for 5 minutes on all sides.
Step 4
Pour in the coconut milk and soy sauce, cover, and simmer for 45 minutes over medium heat.
Step 5
Serve with jasmine rice cooked separately.
