Ropa Vieja
Shredded beef simmered with tomatoes, peppers and Cuban spices, served over white rice with black beans for a tender and flavorful dish.

Ingredients
- 800 g Beef brisket
- 400 g Canned tomatoes
- 2 piece Red bell peppers
- 1 piece Yellow bell peppers
- 2 piece Yellow onions
- 6 clove Garlic
- 200 ml Dry white wine
- 500 ml Beef broth
- 5 g Cumin
- 3 g Dried oregano
- 4 piece Juniper berries
- 250 g White rice
- 300 g Cooked black beans
Instructions
Step 1
Cut the beef into large chunks and sear over high heat in oil.
Step 2
Add onions and garlic, sauté for 3 minutes.
Step 3
Deglaze with white wine, then add tomatoes and broth.
Step 4
Add spices and simmer covered for 1 hour 15 minutes.
Step 5
Add peppers 15 minutes before the end of cooking.
Step 6
Shred the meat using two forks.
Step 7
Serve over white rice with black beans.
