Pulled Pork Sandwich
Pork brisket slowly braised with barbecue spices, shredded and served on a brioche bun with homemade spicy sauce.
Ingredients
- 1200 g Pork brisket
- 300 ml Homemade barbecue sauce
- 60 ml White vinegar
- 3 tbsp Brown sugar
- 1 tbsp Chili powder
- 1 tsp Smoked paprika
- 0.5 tsp Cumin
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
- 1 tsp Onion powder
- 1.5 tsp Salt
- 0.75 tsp Black pepper
- 400 ml Water
- 4 piece Brioche buns
- 300 g Coleslaw
Instructions
Step 1
Mix chili powder, paprika, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper. Rub the pork brisket with this spice mixture.
Step 2
Sear the pork in an oiled cast iron pot for 3-4 minutes on each side. Set aside.
Step 3
Deglaze with white vinegar and water. Return the pork, cover and braise in the oven at 130°C for 4 hours (or pressure cooker 1h30).
Step 4
Let cool slightly, then shred the meat with two forks. Remove any fat from the surface.
Step 5
Mix the shredded meat with the barbecue sauce and brown sugar. Warm over low heat for 5 minutes.
Step 6
Lightly toast the brioche buns. Generously fill with pulled pork and coleslaw. Serve immediately.
