Lamprais
A savory cylinder of spiced rice wrapped in fried plantain banana, filled with eggs and meat. A festive and delicious Sri Lankan specialty.

Ingredients
- 300 g Ground beef
- 250 g White rice
- 3 piece Plantain banana
- 4 piece Eggs
- 2 piece Red onion
- 3 clove Garlic
- 1 piece Red chili
- 2 tsp Curry powder
- 1 tsp Mustard
- 30 g Dried shrimp
- 6 tbsp Vegetable oil
- 400 ml Vegetable broth
Instructions
Step 1
Cook the rice with the broth and 2 tbsp of oil, let cool partially.
Step 2
Sauté the ground beef with onion, garlic, chili, curry, and dried shrimp for 5 minutes.
Step 3
Mix the cooked meat with the rice and let cool.
Step 4
Peel the plantains and thinly slice lengthwise with a vegetable peeler.
Step 5
Form a cylinder with a plantain slice, fill with the rice-meat mixture and a raw egg.
Step 6
Fry the lamprais at 180°C until the plantain is golden and crispy.
