Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte
Classic German Black Forest cake with sponge cake, cherries, whipped cream, and chocolate. A rich and spectacular dessert from German regions.

Ingredients
- 200 g Flour
- 200 g Granulated sugar
- 6 piece Egg
- 150 g Butter
- 50 g Cocoa powder
- 8 g Baking powder
- 50 ml Whole milk
- 600 ml Heavy cream
- 400 g Canned cherries
- 50 ml Kirsch or dark rum
- 100 g Dark chocolate
- 5 g Vanilla
Instructions
Step 1
Prepare the three sponge cakes by beating the eggs with sugar.
Step 2
Fold in the melted butter, flour, cocoa, and baking powder.
Step 3
Pour into three molds and bake at 180°C for 25-30 minutes.
Step 4
Cool then soak each sponge cake with cherry syrup and kirsch.
Step 5
Whip the heavy cream with sugar and vanilla.
Step 6
Assemble by alternating sponge cake, cherries, and whipped cream.
Step 7
Decorate the top with chocolate shavings and cherries.
