Portuguese custard tarts with crispy, flaky pastry filled with creamy vanilla custard and cinnamon. An authentic pastry to enjoy warm.

Ingredients
- 250 g Puff pastry
- 250 ml Milk
- 3 piece Egg yolk
- 60 g White sugar
- 1 tbsp Cornstarch
- 1 tsp Vanilla powder
- 1 tsp Ground cinnamon
- 3 tbsp Sugar for dusting
- 1 tbsp Soft butter
- 50 ml Water
Instructions
Step 1
Prepare the custard: mix egg yolks and sugar, add cornstarch and vanilla
Step 2
Heat the milk without boiling, gradually pour it into the egg mixture while stirring
Step 3
Return to low heat and stir constantly until thickened
Step 4
Unroll the puff pastry, lightly butter it and roll it up tightly
Step 5
Cut into 2cm slices, place in muffin molds, fill with custard
Step 6
Bake for 18-20 minutes at 220°C until golden, dust with sugar and cinnamon
