Red Lentil and Turmeric Soup
A silky red lentil dhal with turmeric and cumin, perfumed with fresh cilantro. A nourishing Indian soup with controlled carbohydrate portions.

Ingredients
- 120 g red lentils
- 2 piece tomato
- 1 piece onion
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 bunch fresh cilantro
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
Step 1
Slice the onion and cut the tomatoes into dice. Rinse the red lentils.
Step 2
Sauté the onion in olive oil for 3 minutes. Add the turmeric and cumin, stir for 30 seconds.
Step 3
Add the tomatoes, lentils, and 600 ml of water. Bring to a boil then simmer over low heat for 15 minutes until the lentils are tender.
Step 4
Blend the soup with an immersion blender. Adjust seasoning and serve with fresh chopped cilantro.
