Crispy Banana and Ham Tempura with Peanut-Honey Sauce
Crispy fried banana and ham fritters made using Japanese tempura technique, served with a creamy spiced peanut-honey sauce. A bold fusion creation.
Ingredients
- 3 piece Bananas
- 120 g Ham
- 50 g Nuts
- 100 g Flour
- 50 g Cornstarch
- 150 ml Sparkling water
- 60 g Peanut butter
- 30 ml Honey
- 15 ml Soy sauce
- 10 g Fresh ginger
- 500 ml Frying oil
- 3 g Salt
- 2 g Pepper
Instructions
Step 1
Prepare the tempura batter: mix flour, cornstarch, and salt, then add ice-cold sparkling water while stirring gently.
Step 2
Make the sauce: mix peanut butter, honey, soy sauce, and grated ginger.
Step 3
Cut bananas into sticks and ham into thick strips.
Step 4
Crush the nuts and add them to the batter.
Step 5
Heat oil to 170°C in a deep pan.
Step 6
Dip banana sticks in the batter.
Step 7
Fry for 3-4 minutes until crispy and golden, then drain.
Step 8
Dip ham strips in the batter and fry for 2-3 minutes.
Step 9
Plate and serve with the peanut-honey sauce.
