Tabbouleh
A fresh Lebanese salad made with bulgur, abundant fresh herbs (parsley and mint), tomatoes, onions, and a lemon-olive oil dressing.
Ingredients
- 200 g Bulgur
- 100 g Fresh parsley
- 50 g Fresh mint
- 4 piece Tomato
- 1 piece Red onion
- 3 piece Fresh lemon
- 4 tbsp Olive oil
- 300 ml Boiling water
- 0.5 tsp Salt
- 0.25 tsp Pepper
Instructions
Step 1
Pour boiling water over the bulgur in a bowl. Cover and let soak for 15 minutes until fully absorbed.
Step 2
Meanwhile, finely chop the parsley and mint. Dice the tomatoes. Slice the red onion very thinly.
Step 3
Squeeze the lemons to get 120 ml of juice. Prepare the dressing by mixing lemon juice and olive oil with salt and pepper.
Step 4
Fluff the bulgur with a fork. Add parsley, mint, tomatoes and onion.
Step 5
Pour the dressing over and toss gently but thoroughly. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Step 6
Serve at room temperature. Tabbouleh can also be enjoyed with pita bread or lettuce leaves.
