Simplified Spaghetti Carbonara
A lighter take on carbonara featuring sautéed ham and melted Gruyère. Creamy and comforting, ready in 25 minutes.

Ingredients
- 200 g Spaghetti
- 150 g Ham
- 80 g Gruyère
- 2 piece Eggs
- 100 ml Sour cream
- 20 g Butter
- 1 tsp Black pepper
- 1 pinch Salt
Instructions
Step 1
Bring water to a boil and cook the spaghetti al dente according to package directions.
Step 2
Cut the ham into small dice and sauté it in a skillet with butter for 3 minutes.
Step 3
Whisk together the eggs with the sour cream, grated Gruyère, and pepper in a bowl.
Step 4
Drain the spaghetti, reserving a glass of cooking water.
Step 5
Toss the pasta with the sautéed ham, then remove from heat and pour the egg-cream mixture while stirring vigorously.
Step 6
If too dry, add a splash of cooking water. Serve immediately with a fresh grind of black pepper.
