Sosaties - South African Pork Skewers
Cubes of pork marinated in a spicy sweet and savory sauce, threaded with dried apricots and grilled—the quintessential South African appetizer.

Ingredients
- 600 g pork (shoulder)
- 150 g dried apricots
- 2 piece onion
- 3 clove garlic
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp white vinegar
- 1 tsp curry powder
- 0.5 piece red chili
- 0.5 tsp cumin
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt and pepper
Instructions
Step 1
Cut the pork into 3 cm cubes.
Step 2
Finely mince the garlic, onion, and chili for the marinade.
Step 3
Mix together soy sauce, honey, vinegar, curry powder, cumin, and olive oil.
Step 4
Marinate the pork in this mixture for 15 minutes.
Step 5
Thread the pork and apricots alternately onto skewers.
Step 6
Grill the skewers for 10-12 minutes over a barbecue, turning regularly.
Step 7
Serve hot with fresh lemon wedges on the side.
