Georgian Shrimp Shkmeruli
Decadent Georgian shrimp cooked in a creamy walnut and garlic sauce. A rich dish with Mediterranean and Caucasian flavors.

Ingredients
- 600 g Peeled shrimp
- 150 g Crushed walnuts
- 8 clove Garlic
- 200 ml Sour cream
- 1 piece White onion
- 30 g Fresh cilantro
- 15 g Fresh mint
- 15 ml White vinegar
- 150 ml Fish stock
- 30 g Butter
- 5 g Salt and pepper
- 1 piece Sweet pepper
- 200 g White rice
Instructions
Step 1
Cook the rice according to package directions and keep warm.
Step 2
Sauté the finely chopped onion in butter for 2 minutes.
Step 3
Add the minced garlic and cook 1 minute. Stir in the crushed walnuts and toast for 2 minutes.
Step 4
Pour in the stock and vinegar. Let reduce for 3 minutes over medium heat.
Step 5
Stir in the sour cream gently. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Step 6
Add the shrimp and sliced pepper. Cook for 4-5 minutes until the shrimp are colored.
Step 7
Generously garnish with fresh cilantro and mint. Serve over hot rice.
