Pan-Seared Mackerel with Cumin, Bell Peppers and Onions
Fresh mackerel pan-seared in a wok with tricolor bell peppers and onions, seasoned with cumin and smoked paprika. A savory and quick North African-inspired dish.

Ingredients
- 300 g mackerel fillets
- 2 piece mixed bell peppers (red, yellow, green)
- 1 large onion
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 piece lemon
Instructions
Step 1
Cut the mackerel fillets into 4 cm pieces. Slice the bell peppers and onion into thin strips.
Step 2
Heat the wok over high heat. Sear the mackerel pieces for 2 minutes per side, then set aside.
Step 3
Stir-fry the bell peppers and onion for 4 minutes. Add the cumin and smoked paprika, stir for 30 seconds.
Step 4
Return the mackerel, squeeze the lemon juice over it and gently mix for 1 minute.
