Portuguese-Style Grilled Sardines
Fresh whole sardines simply seasoned with Portuguese herbs and grilled until golden. Served with lemon wedges and olive oil rice.

Ingredients
- 500 g Fresh whole sardines
- 200 g White rice
- 4 tbsp Virgin olive oil
- 2 clove Garlic
- 15 g Fresh parsley
- 1 tsp Sweet paprika
- 1 piece Fresh lemon
- 1 tsp Sea salt
- 1 pinch Black pepper
- 400 ml Boiling water
Instructions
Step 1
Cook rice in boiling salted water for 10 minutes.
Step 2
Clean the sardines by removing heads and entrails, rinse with cold water.
Step 3
Prepare marinade by mixing olive oil, minced garlic, paprika and parsley.
Step 4
Brush sardines with marinade inside and out.
Step 5
Grill sardines for 3 minutes on each side on a hot griddle.
Step 6
Serve hot sardines over rice, garnish with fresh lemon and parsley.
