Lentil Samosas
Crispy triangular pastries filled with spiced lentils. A popular snack from Pakistani cuisine, perfect as an appetizer.

Ingredients
- 200 g Red lentils
- 300 g Wheat flour
- 150 ml Water
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 piece Onion
- 2 clove Garlic
- 1 tsp Fresh ginger
- 1 piece Green chili
- 1 tsp Cumin powder
- 2 tbsp Fresh cilantro
- 200 ml Peanut oil
Instructions
Step 1
Cook the lentils in boiling water for 15-20 minutes until tender.
Step 2
Drain the lentils and lightly mash them, then add chopped onion, garlic, ginger and spices.
Step 3
Season the filling with salt and fresh cilantro.
Step 4
Make the dough by mixing flour, salt and water, then knead for 5 minutes.
Step 5
Divide the dough into 12 portions and stretch each into a thin rectangle.
Step 6
Place filling in the center and fold into a triangle, seal the edges with water.
Step 7
Deep fry the samosas in hot oil for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden.
