Cuban Ropa Vieja
Shredded braised beef in a spicy tomato sauce with bell peppers and onions. A savory traditional Cuban dish served with white rice.

Ingredients
- 800 g beef stew meat
- 400 g crushed tomatoes
- 2 piece red bell peppers
- 2 piece onions
- 6 clove garlic
- 150 ml dry white wine
- 5 g cumin
- 5 g dried oregano
- 60 ml olive oil
- 8 g salt and pepper
Instructions
Step 1
Sear the beef in hot oil in batches until browned.
Step 2
Add chopped onions and garlic, cook for 3 minutes.
Step 3
Deglaze with white wine, then add tomatoes, cumin and oregano.
Step 4
Cover and simmer gently for 60 minutes.
Step 5
Add sliced bell peppers and cook for 10 minutes.
Step 6
Shred the meat lightly with two forks. Season to taste.
