Rice with Fruit and Mild Curry
Tender rice cooked with apples and pears in milk, seasoned with warm spices and a hint of vanilla. A sweet and savory Asian-inspired dish that's comforting and delicious.

Ingredients
- 200 g Basmati rice
- 1 piece Apple
- 1 piece Pear
- 300 ml Milk
- 200 ml Water
- 2 tsp Sugar
- 20 g Butter
- 1 tsp Curry powder
- 1 splash Vanilla
- 1 pinch Salt
Instructions
Step 1
Rinse the rice in cold water until the water runs clear.
Step 2
Peel and dice the apple and pear into small cubes.
Step 3
Sauté the rice in butter with curry powder for 2 minutes in a wok or pot.
Step 4
Add the water, milk, sugar, salt and vanilla. Bring to a boil then reduce the heat.
Step 5
Add the fruit and let simmer covered for 20 minutes until all the liquid is absorbed.
Step 6
Let rest for 2 minutes off the heat and serve.
