Vegetarian Penne alla Carbonara

Ingredients
- 400 g penne
- 150 g ham
- 100 g Gruyère
- 50 g butter
- à volonté salt
- à volonté pepper
Instructions
Step 1
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the penne according to package instructions.
Step 2
Meanwhile, dice the ham and grate the Gruyère.
Step 3
Drain the pasta, reserving a glass of pasta water.
Step 4
In the still-warm pot, melt the butter, add the ham and grated cheese.
Step 5
Add the pasta and mix, adding a splash of pasta water as needed to create a creamy sauce. Season to taste.
