Penne with Carrot and Celery Sauce
A simple Italian vegetarian dish where carrots and celery melt into a creamy sauce. Perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.

Ingredients
- 250 g Penne
- 2 piece Carrots
- 2 stalk Celery stalks
- 50 g Gruyère
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 1 pinch Salt
- 1 pinch Pepper
- 1.5 l Water
Instructions
Step 1
Boil salted water in a saucepan. Cook the penne according to package directions.
Step 2
Peel and finely grate the carrots and celery.
Step 3
In a skillet, melt the butter and cook the grated vegetables for 5 minutes, stirring.
Step 4
Drain the penne and toss with the sauce. Add grated Gruyère, salt, and pepper.
