Homemade Penne Carbonara
Classic carbonara simplified with eggs, ham, cheese, and pasta. A rich and savory Italian dish that never disappoints.

Ingredients
- 200 g Penne
- 120 g Ham
- 80 g Gruyère
- 2 piece Eggs
- 1 tbsp Olive oil
- 1 pinch Salt
- 1 pinch Pepper
- 1500 ml Water
Instructions
Step 1
Bring salted water to a boil and cook the penne according to package directions.
Step 2
Meanwhile, dice the ham and grate the cheese.
Step 3
In a bowl, beat the eggs with the grated cheese, salt, and pepper.
Step 4
Sauté the ham in a skillet with olive oil for 2 minutes.
Step 5
Drain the pasta, reserving some pasta water, then toss with the ham.
Step 6
Remove from heat, add the egg and cheese mixture, and quickly toss to create a creamy sauce.
Step 7
Serve immediately with fresh pepper.
