Baked Pasta with Cauliflower, Creamy Sauce and Cheese
A rich pasta bake with cauliflower, crème fraîche, and melted grated cheese. A comfort food classic that the whole family will love.
Ingredients
- 300 g Pasta
- 350 g Cauliflower
- 200 ml Crème fraîche
- 100 g Grated cheese (Emmental or Gruyère)
- 30 g Butter
- 2 tbsp Flour
- 200 ml Milk
- à goût Salt
- à goût Pepper
- une pincée Nutmeg
Instructions
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 200°C. Cook the pasta in a pot of salted water until half-cooked (about 6-7 minutes). Drain.
Step 2
Cut the cauliflower into small florets and boil in salted water for 8 minutes. Drain.
Step 3
Prepare a béchamel sauce: melt the butter in a pan, sprinkle with flour and stir for 1-2 minutes. Gradually pour in the milk while whisking until thickened. Add salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
Step 4
Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the crème fraîche to the béchamel. Mix well.
Step 5
In a baking dish, combine the pasta, cauliflower, and creamy sauce. Generously sprinkle grated cheese on top.
Step 6
Bake for 12-15 minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbly. Serve hot.
