Simplified French-Style Carbonara Pasta
A comforting and indulgent take on carbonara: creamy pasta with bacon, eggs and cheese. A classic French-Italian weeknight favorite.

Ingredients
- 250 g Pasta
- 150 g Ham or bacon
- 80 g Cheese (Gruyère or Parmesan)
- 2 piece Eggs
- 3 tbsp Crème fraîche
- 1 pinch Black pepper
- 1 pinch Salt
- 2 L Water
Instructions
Step 1
Bring salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package directions.
Step 2
Meanwhile, dice the bacon/ham and cook in a skillet for 3 minutes.
Step 3
In a bowl, mix together the eggs, crème fraîche and grated cheese.
Step 4
Drain the pasta, reserving a glass of cooking water. Add the pasta to the bacon in the skillet.
Step 5
Remove the skillet from heat and pour in the egg-cream-cheese mixture. Stir quickly, adding a little cooking water for creaminess.
Step 6
Season with pepper, toss one final time and serve immediately.
