Pasta Carbonara with Ham
A generous homemade carbonara pasta with crispy ham, melting cheese, and creamy eggs. A delicious Italian comfort classic.
Ingredients
- 250 g Pasta
- 150 g Ham
- 80 g Gruyère
- 2 piece Eggs
- 100 ml Sour cream
- 15 g Butter
- à volonté Salt
- à volonté Pepper
Instructions
Step 1
Cook the pasta in salted boiling water according to package directions. Drain, reserving some cooking water.
Step 2
Dice the ham into small pieces. Grate the Gruyère. Whisk the eggs with the sour cream, season with salt and pepper.
Step 3
Melt the butter in a large skillet, add the ham and sauté for 2-3 minutes over medium heat.
Step 4
Add the drained pasta and mix well. Remove from heat and let cool for 1 minute.
Step 5
Pour the egg and cream mixture over the pasta and stir constantly off the heat so the sauce thickens without cooking the eggs.
Step 6
Add the grated Gruyère and stir. Add a little cooking water if too thick. Serve immediately.
