Simplified Carbonara Pasta with Ham and Vegetables
A homemade take on classic Italian carbonara with ham and egg. Simple, quick, and delicious—perfect for a weeknight meal.
Ingredients
- 350 g Pasta
- 150 g Ham
- 3 pieces Eggs
- 100 g Gruyère
- 200 g Broccoli
- 30 ml Olive oil
- 2 l Water
- 1 pinch Salt
- 1 pinch Pepper
Instructions
Step 1
Bring the water to a boil in a pot. Cook the pasta according to package directions.
Step 2
Meanwhile, whisk the eggs with the grated Gruyère, salt and pepper. Set aside.
Step 3
Cut the ham into small cubes. Cut the broccoli into small florets.
Step 4
Heat the oil in a pan and sauté the ham for 2 minutes. Add the broccoli and cook for 5 minutes.
Step 5
Drain the pasta, reserving a glass of pasta water. Pour the pasta into the pan with the ham and broccoli.
Step 6
Remove from heat. Pour the egg and cheese mixture over the pasta and stir well. Add some pasta water if needed. Serve immediately.
