Reinvented Carbonara Pasta
A straightforward homemade version of classic Italian carbonara featuring ham, egg, cheese, and cream. A rich and satisfying dish ready in just 25 minutes.
Ingredients
- 250 g pasta
- 120 g ham
- 80 g cheese
- 2 piece eggs
- 100 ml sour cream
- 20 g butter
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 pinch pepper
Instructions
Step 1
Bring salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package directions. Drain, reserving some pasta water.
Step 2
Dice the ham. Whisk together the eggs, sour cream, grated cheese, salt, and pepper.
Step 3
Melt the butter in a large skillet. Add the ham and sauté for 2 minutes.
Step 4
Pour the drained pasta into the skillet and mix well with the ham.
Step 5
Lower the heat, pour in the egg and cream mixture, and stir constantly for 2 minutes to create a creamy sauce without overcooking the eggs.
Step 6
If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of pasta water. Serve immediately.
