Mussels Mexican-Style with Peppers and Cilantro
Pan-seared mussels in a spiced sauce with peppers, tomatoes, and fresh cilantro. A Mexican twist on traditional mussels.

Ingredients
- 500 g cleaned mussels
- 1 piece green bell pepper
- 200 g crushed tomatoes
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 bunch fresh cilantro
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 piece lime
Instructions
Step 1
Dice the pepper finely and chop the cilantro.
Step 2
Heat the oil in a large deep skillet. Sauté the pepper for 3 minutes with the cumin.
Step 3
Add the crushed tomatoes and cook for 3 minutes to form a sauce.
Step 4
Add the mussels, cover, and cook for 5 minutes until fully opened. Discard any that remain closed.
Step 5
Squeeze the lime, sprinkle with cilantro, and serve in the skillet.
