Hawaiian Coconut Malasada
A soft Hawaiian fried pastry rolled in coconut and sugar. A light and irresistible exotic dessert.

Ingredients
- 200 g rice flour
- 100 g potato starch
- 80 g white sugar
- 3 piece eggs
- 120 ml coconut milk
- 8 g baking powder
- 5 g vanilla powder
- 100 g shredded coconut
- 60 g coconut sugar
- 2 g salt
- 600 ml frying oil
Instructions
Step 1
Mix rice flour, starch, baking powder, vanilla and salt
Step 2
Whisk eggs and white sugar until pale
Step 3
Stir in the coconut milk with the eggs
Step 4
Combine dry ingredients with wet ingredients
Step 5
Let rest for 10 minutes
Step 6
Heat oil to 180°C
Step 7
Form dough balls and fry for 3-4 minutes until golden
Step 8
Drain and immediately roll in the coconut-sugar mixture
