Glazed Ham with Asian Spices and Honey
A glossy, sweet and savory ham roasted with a honey-soy-ginger glaze that blends Asian flavors with French tradition. A spectacular and delicious centerpiece.
Ingredients
- 1200 g Ham
- 80 g Honey
- 60 ml Soy sauce
- 30 g Fresh ginger
- 20 g Garlic
- 40 ml Rice vinegar
- 50 g Butter
- 150 ml Water
- 3 g Sichuan pepper
- 4 piece Cloves
Instructions
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 160°C.
Step 2
Grate the ginger and mince the garlic.
Step 3
Combine the honey, soy sauce, vinegar, ginger, garlic, and Sichuan pepper in a saucepan.
Step 4
Heat the mixture for 5 minutes without boiling, then remove from heat.
Step 5
Generously brush the ham with the glaze and stud the surface with cloves.
Step 6
Place the ham in the oven with a little water and cook for 50 minutes, basting every 15 minutes.
Step 7
Pour the remaining glaze over the ham at the end of cooking and let rest for 5 minutes.
Step 8
Serve hot with the reduced sauce.
