Shrimp and Andouille Sausage Gumbo
A rich and flavorful Cajun classic with shrimp, spicy sausage, and okra served over fluffy white rice.

Ingredients
- 500 g Peeled shrimp
- 300 g Andouille sausage
- 300 g Fresh okra
- 2 piece White onion
- 2 stalk Celery
- 1 piece Red bell pepper
- 400 g Diced tomatoes
- 300 g White rice
- 2 tsp Cayenne powder
- 1 tsp Paprika powder
- 2 sprig Fresh thyme
- 750 ml Fish stock
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 3 tbsp Cornmeal flour
Instructions
Step 1
Cook the rice according to package directions.
Step 2
Slice the andouille sausage into rounds and brown in a skillet.
Step 3
Add butter and cornmeal flour to create a roux, stirring well for 2 minutes.
Step 4
Add the onions, celery, and bell pepper, sauté for 5 minutes.
Step 5
Pour in the stock and tomatoes, add the spices and thyme.
Step 6
Simmer for 10 minutes, then add the okra and shrimp.
Step 7
Cook for another 5 minutes until the shrimp turn pink.
Step 8
Serve the gumbo hot over white rice.
