Salmon Gravlax
Fresh salmon cured cold with salt, sugar, and Scandinavian dill. A classic Nordic dish served in thin slices, perfect as an appetizer.

Ingredients
- 600 g Fresh salmon fillet
- 3 tbsp Salt
- 2 tbsp White sugar
- 1 bunch Fresh dill
- 1 tsp Cracked black pepper
- 1 piece Fresh lemon
- 1 slice Whole wheat bread
Instructions
Step 1
Mix salt, sugar, pepper, and chopped dill in a bowl.
Step 2
Check the salmon for any remaining bones. Spread the salt-sugar-dill mixture on a flat surface.
Step 3
Place salmon skin-side down on the mixture. Generously sprinkle more mixture on top. Add lemon zest.
Step 4
Cover with plastic wrap and place a light weight on top (a board). Refrigerate for 24-48 hours.
Step 5
After curing, slice thinly on the bias with a sharp knife. Serve with whole wheat bread and fresh lemon.
