Potato and Carrot Gratin
A simple and hearty French gratin with tender vegetables in crispy golden layers baked to perfection.

Ingredients
- 600 g potatoes
- 300 g carrots
- 30 g butter
- 250 ml water
- 8 g salt
- 3 g pepper
Instructions
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 200°C. Peel the potatoes and carrots.
Step 2
Slice the potatoes and carrots very thinly using a knife or mandoline.
Step 3
Butter a baking dish. Alternate layers of potatoes and carrots, seasoning with salt and pepper between each layer.
Step 4
Pour the water over and dot the top with butter.
Step 5
Bake for 35 minutes at 200°C until the gratin is golden and the vegetables are tender.
