Potato and Carrot Gratin
A comforting French gratin that's simple and hearty. Perfect as a main dish or side.

Ingredients
- 400 g Potatoes
- 200 g Carrots
- 80 g Ham
- 250 ml Milk
- 20 g Butter
- 1 tbsp Flour
- 1 pinch Salt
- 1 pinch Pepper
Instructions
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Step 2
Peel and thinly slice the potatoes and carrots.
Step 3
Prepare a béchamel sauce: melt the butter, add the flour, then gradually pour in the milk while stirring.
Step 4
Butter a baking dish, layer the vegetables and ham alternately, then pour the béchamel over top.
Step 5
Bake for 35 minutes until golden.
