Potato Gratin with Crushed Walnuts
A traditional French gratin combining tender potatoes, sweet carrots, and crispy walnuts, baked in the oven with butter and flour. Hearty and flavorful.

Ingredients
- 600 g Potatoes
- 200 g Carrots
- 80 g Walnuts
- 60 g Butter
- 30 g Flour
- 250 ml Water
- 5 g Salt
- 2 g Pepper
Instructions
Step 1
Peel and thinly slice the potatoes and carrots using a knife or food processor.
Step 2
Prepare a light béchamel: melt the butter, add flour, cook for 2 minutes, then whisk in water.
Step 3
Preheat oven to 190°C. Season the béchamel with salt and pepper.
Step 4
Crush the walnuts and mix with the vegetables and béchamel.
Step 5
Pour into a buttered baking dish and bake for 40 minutes.
