Penne Gratin with Ham and Gruyere
A comforting and savory gratin with pasta, ham and melted cheese, perfect for a Sunday dinner.

Ingredients
- 350 g Penne
- 150 g Ham
- 150 g Gruyere
- 300 ml Milk
- 30 g Butter
- 2 tbsp Flour
- a volonte pinch Salt
- a volonte pinch Pepper
- 1 pinch Nutmeg
Instructions
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
Step 2
Cook the penne in a pot of boiling salted water for 8 minutes, then drain.
Step 3
Make a béchamel sauce: melt the butter, add the flour, stir well, then gradually pour in the milk while stirring.
Step 4
Season the sauce with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Let cook for 2 minutes.
Step 5
In a baking dish, combine the penne, diced ham and half of the grated Gruyere.
Step 6
Pour the béchamel sauce over the pasta and sprinkle with the remaining Gruyere.
Step 7
Bake for 15 minutes until the cheese is golden and gratiné.
