Penne Baked with Cheese and Tomatoes
A classic French bake with penne, tomato sauce, Comté and Gruyère cheese. Simple, delicious, and perfect for a weeknight dinner.

Ingredients
- 250 g Penne
- 400 ml Tomato sauce
- 80 g Comté
- 80 g Gruyère
- 2 piece Tomatoes
- 20 g Butter
- 1 pinch Salt
- 1 pinch Pepper
Instructions
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Step 2
Bring salted water to a boil in a pot and cook the penne until al dente according to package directions.
Step 3
Drain the penne and transfer to a buttered baking dish.
Step 4
Pour the tomato sauce over the pasta, add the tomatoes sliced into rounds, and gently toss.
Step 5
Mix the grated Comté and Gruyère and sprinkle generously over the top. Season to taste.
Step 6
Bake for 15 minutes until the cheese is golden and the gratin is bubbling.
