Pasta Gratin with Olives and Tomatoes
A comforting pasta bake with penne, olives, tomatoes, and melted cheese. A modern take on a French classic that the whole family will love.

Ingredients
- 300 g Penne
- 2 piece Carrots
- 120 g Olives
- 400 g Crushed canned tomatoes
- 150 g Grated cheese
- 30 g Butter
- 150 ml Crème fraîche
- 2 l Water
- 1 pinch Salt
- 1 pinch Pepper
- 1 tsp Herbes de Provence
Instructions
Step 1
Cook the penne in salted boiling water according to package instructions. Drain.
Step 2
Meanwhile, peel and dice the carrots into small cubes.
Step 3
Melt the butter in a pan and sauté the carrots for 3 minutes. Add the crushed tomatoes and olives.
Step 4
Simmer for 5 minutes. Stir in the crème fraîche and Herbes de Provence. Season to taste.
Step 5
Combine the cooked penne with the sauce in a baking dish. Generously sprinkle with grated cheese.
Step 6
Bake at 200°C for 12-15 minutes until the cheese is golden brown. Serve hot.
