Baked Penne with Carrots and Gruyère
A rich penne bake with grated carrots and melted cheese. A comfort food classic that requires just a few simple ingredients.

Ingredients
- 350 g Penne
- 3 pieces Carrots
- 150 g Grated Gruyère
- 300 ml Milk
- 3 tbsp Butter
- 3 tbsp Flour
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 pinch Pepper

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Step 2
Bring salted water to a boil and cook the penne according to package directions.
Step 3
Meanwhile, grate the carrots and prepare a béchamel: melt the butter, add the flour and gradually pour in the milk while stirring.
Step 4
Add the carrots and 100g of Gruyère to the béchamel and season.
Step 5
Drain the pasta and toss with the sauce in a baking dish.
Step 6
Sprinkle the remaining 50g of Gruyère on top and bake for 15 minutes until golden.
