Pasta Gratin with Ham and Olives (Mediterranean Style)
A comforting pasta bake with small shells, ham, and olives topped with a creamy layer. Perfect for family meals.
Ingredients
- 300 g Small pasta shells
- 150 g Ham
- 120 g Black olives
- 200 ml Crème fraîche
- 200 ml Milk
- 100 g Grated cheese
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 1 tsp Salt
- 0.5 tsp Pepper
- 2 l Water
Instructions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 200°C.
Step 2
Bring salted water to a boil in a saucepan.
Step 3
Cook the pasta 2 minutes less than the package time (it should remain slightly al dente).
Step 4
Drain the pasta and pour into a buttered baking dish.
Step 5
Cut the ham into small cubes and add to the pasta along with the olives.
Step 6
In a bowl, whisk together the crème fraîche, milk, salt, and pepper.
Step 7
Pour the cream mixture over the pasta and mix well.
Step 8
Sprinkle the grated cheese generously on top.
Step 9
Bake at 200°C for 20-25 minutes until the gratin is golden and bubbling.
Step 10
Let rest for 3 minutes before serving.
