Rustic Carrot and Celery Gratin
A simple and comforting gratin with sliced carrots and celery bound together with butter and water. Best served fresh from the oven.

Ingredients
- 400 g Carrots
- 200 g Celery
- 30 g Butter
- 150 ml Water
- à volonté Salt
- à volonté Pepper
- 10 ml Oil
Instructions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 190°C. Peel carrots and celery, then slice thinly.
Step 2
Butter a casserole dish. Layer carrot and celery slices alternately. Season with salt and pepper between layers.
Step 3
Pour water over the vegetables. Dot with small pieces of butter on top.
Step 4
Bake covered for 30 minutes, then uncovered for 5 minutes to lightly brown.
