Broccoli and Ham Gratin with Béchamel Sauce
A comforting gratin combining tender broccoli and savory ham, smothered in creamy béchamel sauce and topped with melted Gruyère cheese.
Ingredients
- 400 g Broccoli
- 150 g Ham
- 3 tbsp Butter
- 3 tbsp Flour
- 500 ml Water
- 100 g Gruyère
- à volonté pinch Salt
- à volonté pinch Pepper
Instructions
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 200°C. Cut the broccoli into small florets and cook for 8 minutes in boiling salted water.
Step 2
Prepare the béchamel: melt the butter in a saucepan and whisk in the flour.
Step 3
Gradually add the water while whisking to prevent lumps. Let thicken for 5 minutes.
Step 4
Season the béchamel with salt and pepper. Chop the ham into small pieces.
Step 5
Drain the broccoli and arrange it in a gratin dish. Scatter the ham on top.
Step 6
Pour the béchamel over everything and sprinkle with grated Gruyère.
Step 7
Bake for 15 minutes until the gratin is golden.
