Chocolate Fondant Cake with Apple Compote
A rich and moist chocolate cake lightened with homemade apple compote. Indulgent yet balanced.
Ingredients
- 150 g Flour
- 150 g Chocolate
- 3 piece Apple
- 100 g Sugar
- 80 g Butter
- 80 ml Milk
- 2 piece Eggs
- 1 packet Baking powder
- 1 pinch Salt
Instructions
Step 1
Peel and chop the apples into pieces. Cook for 10 minutes in a saucepan with a little water to make compote. Set aside.
Step 2
Preheat the oven to 175°C and butter a baking pan.
Step 3
Melt the broken chocolate with butter over a double boiler or in the microwave.
Step 4
Mix flour, baking powder and salt. In another bowl, whisk sugar and eggs for 2 minutes.
Step 5
Fold the melted chocolate into the eggs, then add flour and milk alternately. Add 4 tablespoons of apple compote.
Step 6
Pour the batter into the pan. Bake for 30 minutes until fully cooked (a toothpick should come out moist but not runny).
