Chocolate and Apple Express Cake
A tender chocolate cake topped with candied apples, perfect for an afternoon snack or dessert. Even more indulgent with eggs and vanilla for a better texture.

Ingredients
- 180 g Flour
- 150 g Chocolate
- 120 g Sugar
- 150 ml Milk
- 3 pieces Apple
- 80 g Butter
- 2 pieces Eggs
- 10 g Baking powder
- 5 ml Vanilla
- 1 pinch Salt
Instructions
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 180°C. Butter a round cake pan. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler with 40g of butter.
Step 2
Whisk the eggs with sugar until pale. Add vanilla, then melted chocolate.
Step 3
Mix flour and baking powder. Gently fold into the chocolate mixture, alternating with the milk.
Step 4
Peel and slice the apples. Arrange them on top of the batter.
Step 5
Bake for 35 minutes until fully cooked (test with a knife). Let cool before removing from pan.
