Beef and Egg Donburi
A rice bowl topped with marinated beef, caramelized onions and a runny egg, covered with a sweet and savory Japanese-style sauce.

Ingredients
- 300 g White rice
- 250 g Thinly sliced beef
- 1 piece White onion
- 2 piece Egg
- 3 tbsp Soy sauce
- 2 tbsp Mirin
- 1 tbsp Sugar
- 100 ml Water
- 10 g Fresh ginger
- 1 leaf Nori seaweed
Instructions
Step 1
Cook the white rice according to package instructions.
Step 2
Thinly slice the white onion and grate the ginger.
Step 3
In a saucepan, caramelize the onion with a little water.
Step 4
Add the sliced beef and cook for 2-3 minutes, then pour in the soy sauce-mirin-sugar-ginger mixture.
Step 5
Let simmer for 3 minutes over medium-high heat.
Step 6
Pour the rice into bowls, top with the beef and its sauce, then crack an egg in the center of each bowl.
Step 7
Cover for 2 minutes so the egg cooks partially with steam, garnish with a strip of Nori.
