Gourmet Croque Monsieur with Shrimp and Carrot
A gourmet twist on the classic French sandwich: toasted bread with shrimp, shredded carrot, and melted Gruyère. Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside.

Ingredients
- 4 slice Sandwich bread
- 150 g Shrimp
- 0.5 piece Carrot
- 80 g Gruyère
- 40 g Butter
- 3 tbsp Mayonnaise
- 0.5 tsp Lemon juice
- 1 pinch Salt
- 1 pinch Pepper
Instructions
Step 1
Finely grate the carrot. Mix with mayonnaise, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
Step 2
Slice the shrimp and gently fold into the carrot-mayo mixture.
Step 3
Spread the shrimp mixture on 2 slices of bread. Top with grated Gruyère.
Step 4
Close the sandwiches with the remaining 2 slices of bread. Generously butter the outside.
Step 5
Toast in a pan for 5 minutes on each side over medium-low heat until the bread is golden and the cheese is melted.
