Sautéed Broccoli and Carrot Croque
A generously filled sandwich with sautéed vegetables and melted cheese, pressed in the pan. A delicious and easy twist on the classic croque-monsieur.
Ingredients
- 4 slices Sandwich bread
- 150 g Broccoli
- 1 piece Carrot
- 100 g Gruyère
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 1 tbsp Olive oil
- 1 pinch Salt
- 1 pinch Pepper
Instructions
Step 1
Cut the broccoli into small florets and the carrot into fine dice.
Step 2
Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat, add carrot and broccoli. Cook for 8 minutes until tender. Season with salt and pepper.
Step 3
Lightly butter one side of 2 slices of bread. Spread the sautéed vegetables on the other side.
Step 4
Add grated Gruyère over the vegetables. Cover with the 2 remaining slices of bread, buttered side facing out.
Step 5
Melt the remaining butter in the pan, then grill the sandwiches for 3-4 minutes per side until the bread is golden and the cheese is melted.
