Baked Pasta with Mackerel and Carrots
A complete baked pasta dish with small shells, omega-3 rich mackerel, carrots, and a Gruyère crust. A balanced and satisfying meal.

Ingredients
- 200 g Small pasta shells
- 1 can Canned mackerel
- 2 medium Carrots
- 80 g Gruyère shreds
- 25 g Butter
- 20 g Flour
- 200 ml Milk
- 1 pinch Salt
- 1 pinch Pepper
Instructions
Step 1
Peel and cut the carrots into fine dice. Cook the pasta in salted water according to package directions.
Step 2
Make a béchamel: melt the butter, add the flour while stirring, then gradually pour in the milk while whisking. Season.
Step 3
Drain the pasta and mackerel. Mix with the carrots, béchamel, and half the Gruyère. Transfer to a greased baking dish.
Step 4
Cover with the remaining Gruyère and bake at 200°C for 15 minutes until golden brown.
