Algerian Lentil Chorba
A generous and comforting soup with red lentils, chickpeas, and vegetables, seasoned with traditional Algerian spices.

Ingredients
- 150 g Red lentils
- 200 g Canned chickpeas
- 2 piece Carrots
- 1 piece Zucchini
- 200 g Crushed tomatoes
- 1 piece Onion
- 2 clove Garlic
- 1 tbsp Harissa
- 2 tbsp Olive oil
- 1 L Vegetable broth
- 10 g Fresh cilantro
- 1 tsp Salt
Instructions
Step 1
Rinse the red lentils.
Step 2
Peel and slice the carrots into rounds, cut the zucchini into dice, and finely dice the onion.
Step 3
Heat the olive oil and sauté the onion and garlic.
Step 4
Add the harissa and mix well.
Step 5
Add the lentils, carrots, zucchini, and crushed tomatoes.
Step 6
Pour in the broth and bring to a boil.
Step 7
Add the chickpeas, reduce heat, and simmer for 20 minutes.
Step 8
Season with salt and garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
