Peruvian Seafood Ceviche
A classic Peruvian dish of raw seafood marinated in fresh lime juice with garlic, red onions, and chili peppers, served with sweet potato and corn.
Ingredients
- 200 g Fresh octopus
- 150 g Raw shrimp
- 6 piece Fresh limes
- 1 piece Red onion
- 3 clove Garlic
- 1 piece Fresh chili pepper
- 15 g Fresh cilantro
- 200 g Sweet potato
- 100 g Sweet corn
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 pinch Black pepper
- 1 tbsp Olive oil
Instructions
Step 1
Cook sweet potato and corn in boiling salted water for 15 minutes. Drain and set aside.
Step 2
Cut the octopus and shrimp into regular 2 cm cubes. Squeeze the fresh limes to obtain 300 ml of juice.
Step 3
Place seafood in a bowl. Pour the fresh lime juice and let sit for 10-15 minutes (the lime juice 'cooks' the fish).
Step 4
Finely slice the red onion, garlic, and chili pepper. Add to the ceviche along with cilantro, salt, and pepper.
Step 5
Add olive oil and mix gently.
Step 6
Plate the ceviche and serve with sweet potato and corn on the side. Serve very chilled.
