Butter Chicken with Lentils
A silky Indian curry with white fish in a tomato-cream sauce enriched with red lentils for added protein.

Ingredients
- 300 g cod fillet
- 80 g red lentils
- 250 g crushed tomatoes
- 100 ml heavy cream
- 1 piece onion
- 3 clove garlic
- 15 g ginger
- 2 tsp curry powder
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 2 tbsp oil
- 200 g basmati rice
- 1 tsp salt
Instructions
Step 1
Cook the basmati rice. Cook the lentils for 15 minutes in salted water until tender.
Step 2
Sauté finely chopped onion, garlic, and ginger in hot oil.
Step 3
Add curry powder, turmeric, cumin, and garam masala. Cook for 1 minute.
Step 4
Stir in the crushed tomatoes and simmer for 5 minutes.
Step 5
Add the cooked lentils and cod pieces. Cook for 8 minutes.
Step 6
Stir in the heavy cream, mix well, and serve over basmati rice.
