Lentil and Oat Burger with Caramelized Bananas
Soft patties made with lentils and oats, served between homemade buns and topped with crispy ham and caramelized bananas. A surprising and delicious Franco-Asian fusion.
Ingredients
- 150 g Red lentils
- 100 g Oats
- 3 piece Bananas
- 200 g Ham
- 60 g Walnuts
- 400 ml Water
- 80 g All-purpose flour
- 2 piece Eggs
- 30 ml Honey
- 15 ml Sriracha sauce
- 50 g Butter
- 4 piece Burger buns
- 1 bunch Lettuce
- 2 piece Tomatoes
Instructions
Step 1
Cook the lentils in 300ml of boiling water for 20 minutes until tender.
Step 2
Blend the cooked lentils with oats, crushed walnuts, eggs and flour until smooth.
Step 3
Season the mixture with salt, pepper and sriracha.
Step 4
Form 4 thick patties about 10cm in diameter.
Step 5
Cook the patties in oil in a pan for 6 minutes on each side over medium heat.
Step 6
Cut the ham into thin slices and pan-fry until crispy for 5 minutes.
Step 7
Slice the bananas and caramelize them in butter and honey in a pan for 4 minutes.
Step 8
Lightly toast the burger buns in the oven or in a pan for 2 minutes.
Step 9
Assemble the burgers: bun, lettuce, patty, crispy ham, caramelized banana, tomato, second bun.
Step 10
Serve immediately with an optional extra drizzle of sriracha.
